53 Boerum Does the Oscars

The glitz! The glamour! The Brooklynites!

In honor of our Boerum Hill neighbors, Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams (Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress nominees for Brokeback Mountain), 53boerum.com will be hosting a live blog-cast of this year’s Academy Awards. We’ll be posting as the action happens… join in during the telecast to add your comments.

Good luck Heath and Michelle!

——————————————–

11:28 pm: The montages have finally ended! Best Pic went to Crash. See ya next year!

10:47 pm: Best Actor is… Philip Seymour Hoffman! Totally deserving. Next time, Heath.

9:06 pm: Best Supporting Actress goes to… Rachel Weisz! Oh well… but Michelle does look great.

8:10 pm: What the heck is that huge black thing sitting on Charlize’s shoulder?? Jon Stewart’s doing a great job getting his funny political commentary in there…

7:10 pm: Heath and Michelle are now entering the red carpet zone! Heath looks classic in his black tux and Michelle is wearing a golden yellow gown, not sure if I like it yet. I need a better look. They gave a shout-out to Baby Matilda, awww, who they say is “back home” - maybe in Brooklyn?

  1. best director and adapted screenplay, though!

wow, really surprised about the CRASH win. I totally thought Brokeback Mountain would get it. Re: Michelle’s dress, it was nice to see some color (too much pale pink and black this year), but her necklace didn’t really go w/ the dress. Still she looked nice, as did Heath. Btw, BKLYN magazine is keeping track of Heath sightings. They even have an email address (something like “heath@bklynmag.com”) where you can submit your sightings of him. He was recently spotted at ACORN, the toy shop on Atlantic Ave.

Got something to say?
