Smarthome.com offers an easy-to-install network called INSTEON, whose dual-band network quickly and reliably transmits INSTEON messages throughout your home both wirelessly and through your home’s existing wiring. (Translation = You have the power to control lighting and appliances from anywhere in your home!).

Also available is a line of in-wall controllers that controls individual lights, or triggers whole-house mood lighting “scenes” at the touch of a button.

OK, so this article is not Brooklyn or 53BP specific, but it does have to do with real estate and it gave me a good giggle. Apparantly a gentleman named Alan Weinkrantz, from San Antonio, TX has published a blog to help sell his home. His real estate agent says, “We had never seen that… He is so *avant-garde*.”

It seems that Mac-Gray is offering something called *LaundryView*, an Internet application that allows you to monitor the status of washers and dryers in connected laundry rooms through a Web browser. As their site states, *monitor the status of your laundry online and even get email alerts so you don’t have to spend time in the laundry room waiting for your cycle to finish.*

Brilliant! Folks - we need this!!
